Chain Sling

Understanding the Benefits of Using a Chain Sling:

Selecting the right type of sling is essential in getting the job completed correctly without accompanying injuries. Before you select a sling for the job at hand, it's necessary to take your time in gathering all of the information you'll need regarding the use of the sling. This information is especially important if you need to speak with a specialist regarding your purchase. You'll need to know the weight of the load, the center of gravity, sling angles, upper and lower fittings, number of attachment points, and more. Choosing the correct sling material and configuration will save you in labor costs and keep your workers safe.

If you choose to use a chain sling, OSHA, ASME, and NACM recommend only using alloy steel chain in applications of overhead lifting. At Yellow Lifting, we carry grades 80 and 100 chain sling accessories and V Bridle chain sling drum lifters. If you need to lift with the confidence that comes from using a high quality sling, you'll find we are able to deliver to your expectations. Our standard chain sling lengths are 4', 5', 6' 8' and 10', with custom lengths and configurations available upon request. Feel free to place a call to our experts at 866-766-1579 with your custom order or questions and our knowledgeable staff will be happy to help.

For many jobs, a chain sling is a superior option versus synthetic materials. The durability of steel chain brings with it many advantages, including being resistant to impact, cuts and abrasions, being resistant to UV rays and chemicals, the ability of usage in dirty environments, heat resistance of up to 400 degrees F, minimum stretch during lift, and a longer lifespan when compared with nylon or polyester. Chain slings are much easier to adjust, ensuring they are used correctly during a lift, and can be constructed at the job site with minimum effort. A damaged chain sling can be repaired to further lengthen the lifespan of the product. Finally, chain slings are easy to inspect, making them a preferable option for many applications.

If the job at hand requires a sling that will accommodate for heavy duty lifting, such as is common in ship building or steel manufacturing, pipe manufacturing or transport, mobile construction, or concrete, a chain sling may be the best choice. You'll find our products at Yellow Lifting can easily stand up to everyday use.
